Today the IACP awards announced its 2013 book and journalism award finalists, and we were wicked pleased to see that Roads & Kingdoms’ Matt Goulding is one of only two journalists named a finalist in two separate 2013 journalism award categories (his report on South Africa’s Solms-Delta winery and its struggle to deal with its Apartheid past was one of the finalists). It’s a great recognition to even make it this far, and we’re well humbled by it. To mark the occasion, here’s a picture of him on an earlier “reporting trip” to Sicily, proof that he’s not just a great writer, but also a man who makes very poor decisions sometimes.
